I like that we have access to the local greenery and transport is nearby .

I like that we have access to the local greenery and transport is nearby . The atmosphere is pretty much ok i wouldnt say its upmarket or trendy just an average housing area. Its ok for young children but not if you have social teenagers that want to mingle.. This area is great for cat owners as they are pretty safe. As for safety... ive never in 22 yrs felt unsafe walking around this area.

Transport

East acton doesnt really have a problem with travel links. There is east acton train station close by (maybe afew more direction signs for the station would ve useful for those that arent familiar with the area. There are a range of buses that lead to the city, hammersmith, park royal, acton, and southall so not really a problem getting about and buses and trains pretty much run on time.. there could be some improvement to two of the existing bus stops in the area as theres zero shelter at these two stops and seating would be great for the elderly and ither people that cant stand for long, plus would save alot of getting wet when it rains.

Community

Parking i cant really comment on as i dont own a car but everything most definitely. Bin collection is ok could be more regular ie.. twice a week rather than once... i wouldnt say that its the cleanest of areas as people tend to put their rubbish out the night before which lesd to either the foxes wripping the bags open or neighbours wripping the bags ope to see whats inside which i tend to have a moan about alot.. residents should be warned about putting rubbish the night before collection or be faces with a fine. This area like alot of other areas do tend to get alot of youths hanging around on the street corner or up by the local community centre which to some can be a nuisance at times as they can become very loud and cause a fair bit of mess with metal canisters. I wouldnt say traffic noise is a massive problem.. There is a wide range of different people that live on my street couples families students and care givers.but never really a problem. Id say there is alot of private owners within the area and also afew empty properties whuch could actually be offered to those living in long term temporary accommodation like myself that need a stable home.

Amenities

Living in east acton there are afew restaurants but they are mainly fast food shops rather than inviting seated restaurants which is a shame. We have 1 pub which is great for the local older men in this area. As for open spaces we are on top of wormwood scrubs which is amazing for children to let loose on and burn off some energy. A short bus ride away we have shepherd's bush and Westfield which are extremely popular and useful but it would be fab if there was a homewear store like the range or home bargains close by that would be great rather than travelling out and getting stuck in traffic.

The atmosphere is generally very pleasant and I feel safe when out and about most of the time.

The local area is fairly prosperous, and is good for families and commuters looking for good access to Central London. The atmosphere is generally very pleasant and I feel safe when out and about most of the time.

Transport

Transport is very good in the area, with tube links via the District, Piccadilly, and Central lines, and also London Overground and National Rail into and out of Paddington Station. Buses are frequent, and the roads are generally pretty efficient. Traffic can easily grind to a halt when there are stoppages on the North Circular, A40, or A4 routes, and local traffic has been severely affected by the closure to traffic of Hammersmith Bridge. I do not cycle, and would not be tempted by local cycle routes, which do not seem very safe to me.

Community

My street has a very suburban feel, comprised of semi detached houses. Most residents are either families or older people and the area is fairly quiet, a bit away from the shops and restaurants. Some noise from the A40 at the far end of the road, but not too disturbing.

Amenities

Acton and Chiswick have a good range of both Local and Chain Stores, and a fine range of neighbourhood restaurants. The Chiswick High Road and Churchfield Road areas are noteworthy here. Nice parks include Chiswick and Acton Parks, and the Dukes Meadows Riverside area is also popular. There are a variety of sports centres, including swimming pools and gyms, which are popular locally. Would be great to have a local cinema, as the nearest are in Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith, and Park Royal. Altogether, this is a great place to live.

Traffic noise is unbearable, so be aware, constantly during peak times.

East Acton area is not safe at all, and I have noticed that it is getting worse and worse with time. This is due to the lack of control from police, especially in the night. People can harass others without even being noticed, and it might easily lead to robbery, stabbing, raping, etc. People who live in the area are generally poor or not wealthy enough to afford a better place. I can't see many families living here, probably because they know it is not safe. So I wouldn't recommend it, not even for pets as parks are quite far from the centre, which is even more unsafe than East Acton itself. It is not a trendy area, there are no proper places to hang out with friends or family, and it looks in need of regeneration, mostly regarding the safety. There are a few fruit market stalls where you can buy cheap fruit and vegetables, and also a couple of market shops, but not a proper market with food and everything. The only good thing of East Acton is the closeness to the massive shopping centre called Westfield.

Transport

East Acton station is pretty easy to get to, it is a small tube station but it is served by Central Line, that can take you to Westfield Shopping Centre in just two stops, and this is very convenient. Central Line runs every 2 minutes on day core and it also provides a night service on Fridays and Saturdays. It's an old tube line but it connects many key places in London, very useful for tourists. There is no air/con on the Central Line so it gets really warm in Summer. The trains are usually clean but, as many tourists use it, sometimes you can find some trash on the seats. Buses are available and the service is reliable. Traffic in the East Acton area is the worst part of it. You might find traffic clustering on the roundabout with Old Oak Road. The area is generally not safe, especially in the night.

Community

Traffic noise is unbearable, so be aware, constantly during peak times. The area is not safe because it is not controlled by police, or not enough. I have heard of many stabbing and robbery attempts around the area, especially on the main street in the night. I used to finish work very late and I was scared and pretty uncomfortable every time I had to go back home. Mostly renters live in my street, and they are people from different nationalities. Many house are crowded with people, like 10-12 people per house, which is shocking. This shows again that there is no control in the area, and the local estate agencies can sublet illegally. The local people are generally Arabic or Turkish. Bin collection is a reliable service which provides us different days to collect our recycling rubbish. It can be noisy when it gets collected early in the morning, as you can clearly hear the truck that empties every bin.

Amenities

We have very few shops around our place, mostly off licences and kebab takeaway. On the main street, we have Greggs, a few coffee places, many fruit stands, discount stores, a pharmacy, two drycleaners (laundrymat) a takeaway pizza place, one estate agency and a quite big Iceland (supermarket). A short walk away, there is Homebase (DIY store) joined with Argos. No proper restaurants nearby, so this is what is mostly missing. And also well known stores such as Boots, Superdrugs, Wilko, etc. The area looks poor because of the presence of many cheap places to eat (generally selling Arabic food and fried chicken), only takeaway.

I most like the fact we are in an area slightly cheaper than zone 1 & 2 so rent is just that little bit more affordable.
