It’s very convenient if you work or study in the city as you can walk or cycle. I’ve noticed a lot of people here using e scooters to get about now for commuting purposes. There’s a lot of restaurants nearby and a lot of independent ones which is nice to see. The main downside is that I don’t really know many of my neighbours. The atmosphere is young professional, a little trendy but up and coming to an extent with some parts needing regeneration. This area is okay for children but no so great for pets. I feel safe in this area.
Transport
Where I’m based is located to several stations both on the Underground and Thameslink within a few minutes walk - Chancery Lane, Farringdon, Kings Cross St Pancras, Holborn. There’s also a good bus network, Santander bikes located everywhere too. The transport links are reliable, regular and clean. The traffic can be a little bad on High Holborn and Grays Inn Road during the busier times. This area is located on the night tube and there’s plenty of buses so getting around is never an issue.
Community
The parking available is quiet limited to be honest but there’s no restrictions on a Sunday. The bins are collected regularly. There’s not much traffic noise as it’s a residential road. There’s a mix of homeowners and renters at least that’s what I’m aware of. It isn’t really a student area so it doesn’t get too noisy. It’s mostly single people and couples from what I’ve noticed.
Amenities
There’s some shops on Grays Inn Rd nearby, mostly small restaurants but a lot more on High Holborn. If you’re looking for more street food vendors then Leather Lane is just a short walk away. There aren’t too many supermarkets nearby, there’s a Co-Op and that’s pretty much it to be honest. There’s a few pubs but they are mostly located on High Holborn. On that road, there’s also Bounce bar. There aren’t many open green spaces but a short walk away near Holborn station is Lincoln Inn Fields which is lively with university students. On High Holborn is trendy but very business heavy with offices so it makes it a great location to be in. There are countless gyms nearby with a budget to suit everyone. The main amenities that are missing is probably a larger supermarket and an outdoor bar or restaurant.
Trendy area, off the beaten (and worn out) urban city path
Trendy area, off the beaten (and worn out) urban city path, so it's convenient but not crazy (unlike Soho, Shoreditch or Hackney). Feels safe.
Transport
Very well connected by bus, tube and train to other parts of London and beyond. Also easy access to cycle lanes and cycle ways, which makes it easy to cycle across London in all directions from here.
Community
Mostly commercial offices in the area which makes it quiet in the weekend (which is nice). Council amenities/services like bin collection etc are well maintained/provided. Parking is tricky though, with limited lots and congestion charges, so best to be taking public transport.
Amenities
Centre of London, what more can I say? Incredibly central and convenient area to live with almost all other areas of London (Soho, Shoreditch, Islington, South Bank, and beyond) within easy reach (even walkable), well connected by public transport to areas further afield, but also quiet and not crazy congested like other parts of the City, with lots of local flavour amenities (bars, pubs, restaurants, cafes) in the area. Bear in mind though, not as much open space and large green areas nearby as other parts of London, but easy enough to get to these places by public transport, if that's what you're looking for. Great area to live for an urbanite.
Peaceful and Quiet

Transport
Transport is quite convenient over here, many buses and it is close to both Farringdon and Chancery Lane stations. Not too much of traffic jams.
Community
Good aspects, as mentioned before, are the fact that this area is pretty peaceful and quiet. However, it can be noisy living beside the road.
Amenities
Pretty basic shops, supermarkets etc. A really quiet area and it's good if you're looking for that. However, it can get a little boring due to the lack of fun stuff around.
