The area is great for those that have families as there is such a selection of good schools and colleges. The area is a little outdated in comparison to other neighbouring areas. A touch up to some buildings wouldn't be a bad idea, but it is indeed a lovely area to live in. It may not be trendy but you can always have a day out in the major towns as they have the fancy restaurants the theatres. As mentioned before there is a lovely park near by great for dog walking.
Transport
Absolutely fantastic for transport you have the rail and underground near by. You also have 3 day buses (185, 36 and 436) and a night bus (N136) these will take to regent street or battersea. You are living in central so it will get busy in the morning and afternoons due to school run and commuting.
Community
The only downside of the area is that parking can be a problem. Some of the buildings have parking just for the residents on property ground. If you want to have people over they would have to park in neighbouring roads like Kennington Oval where its Monday - Friday between 8:30 and 6:30 you can't park. The neighbourhood is a mixture. You don't have many houses, but there are plenty of flats.

It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main roads, there are plenty of schools nearby. You have to travel a little if you want a night out, to either Vauxhall or Oval. Great thing is the public transport and in just a few stops you can get to Victoria or Elephant and Castle where they have amazing latin American restaurants. You have Vauxhall park nearby, great for picnics, when the weather is better and sports. Once you have done for the day the park has a lovey café Parco.

I like the area, because I feel very safe and secure. Also, whatever I need I can get without having to venture far. The parks are great, so families with children and pets can enjoy the open spaces. It is a very cosy neighbourhood.
Transport
There are several bust stops and the main bus station is very close. The local underground is very useful for getting around. Transport is fluid and the public transport services are very clean. There may be traffic at times, but on the whole, travel is pretty smooth.
Community
It is a lively community. As a result, it may get noisy at times, but everyone is friendly and people look out for one another. There are all sorts of people who live here, from singles and couples to large families. We all get along together.
Amenities
The local shops are great. They have all that is needed for everyday convenience. The nearest supermarket has closed, so a temporary one has been set up nearby. Cinema is a quite close but a disco or youth club would be good. Maybe a dance studio.
