No regeneration! This regeneration and gentrification needs to stop. Let things be. If something isn’t broken, why fix it? Yes suitable for pets and kids. There is a market that’s open everywhere bar Sunday which is a 15/20 minute walk away. Would recommend

As mentioned, Westferry Station is around the corner which is only 3 stops always from Bank Station. There is an abundance of busses and routes too. 277, D6, D7, D3, 115. 15. 135 etc. There are night bus routes too. Busses and trains comes every few minutes so no waiting around! There are also Santander bikes at Westferry station as well as bicycle routes too. We are missing an underground line but as mentioned Westferry Station is 3 stops from Bank. Also, Canary Wharf Jubilee Line is a 15 minute walk from here.

I live in a flat and it is mostly families and people renting properties that have been bought by previous tenants. There is plenty of parking here too. There is unfortunately anti social behaviour but this I quite seasonable (summertime mainly) and dealt with quickly. Traffic is not a problem as you get used to cars at night. There are large bins and recycling bins in the communal shared area but my flat also does have rubbish chutes too.

I’ve been living here for nearly 30 years and it’s been a rollercoaster of a journey but I don’t think I want to move anywhere else. There are both primary and secondary schools as well as colleges, nurseries and a university within walking distance from my flat. Not only this, but there is a local mosque and church too. There is a local Tesco and a Lidl just down the road too. There are a few restaurants in the immediate vicinity however the Canary Wharf area is a 15 minute walk away and there are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops there. Also nearby is a Cineworld Cinema (which will hopefully be somewhere people will go post covid). The area is filled with flats which make for good relationships with neighbours. I’ve made lifelong friends with people in my flat. Before I forget, Westferry Station is a few minute walk from me. There are small open spaces here but there are plenty of parks and open spaces just a bus or train ride away. I would say the only “missing” thing in the area is more restaurants. I did say Canary Wharf is close by but sometimes something a bit closer is nice. There are however, many take aways around. I cannot write a review without being honest about the antisocial behaviour. There are phases of this going up and down and complete stops too. This is not a huge problem as the council deals with the issue quite swiftly. Other than that, I would recommend living here. You have all the necessities nearby and there is no convincing you otherwise.

The area is beautiful and inviting. For us, apart from the fantastic central location, the maritime feeling and rich history in the area made us truly fall in love. The sense of community, almost like in a small town with lots of pet owners and young families, is an additional plus.
Transport
The area is well connected to the east and west because of many DLR stops, making travel towards Canary Wharf and the city very fast, convenient and pleasant. Waiting times can be longer when travelling to some of the branch destinations, but trains are very regular and reliable on the whole. The trains and stations are clean and safe and staff are very friendly. The closest tube stations are on the Isle of Dogs which can make journeys to the north or south rather less convenient. There is a stop for the c2c service, allowing to make the journey to Southend-on-Sea in 45 minutes. Bus connectivity is good, with reliable service and clean buses. Uber boat services are available from Canary Wharf pier for a more expensive but very pleasant trip along the Thames.

The area is pleasant and clean with pretty new built houses along with well kept historic buildings. People living in the street are typically young professional couples, often also with children. There is a generally friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the community.

There are a number of supermarkets for everyday shopping, many fantastic pubs and restaurants and all the shops and bars of Canary Wharf within short walking distance. The area offers a beautiful mix of the modernity of the financial hub and the vintage charm of old wharf buildings along the Thames. There are plenty of parks such as Ropemakers Field and Mile End Park as well as beautiful walks along the Thames, the canals and Limehouse Basin.

During lockdown unfortunately I could see an increment of criminal , drug trafficker, baby gang and homeless which made me personally scared to walk around in the evening .
