As a student I believe I have found such a clean and welcoming area for the price. During our first year of living here we made friends with numerous neighbours who we have got along with really nicely. The area is modern and safe and I never felt in danger while travelling around the neighbourhood, particularly at night. Being next to the Thames is a bonus and makes you feel like you're really a part of London. Seeing Canary Wharf overarch the area is an intriguing dynamic but offers some spectacular views at night if you're the city-dweller type. While I don't believe the area is suitable for pets I think the cleanliness, nearby amenities and open spaces make it a perfect place for students, couples, families and more.
Transport
From where I am based there is a bus stop within a 1 minute walk that hosts the regular C10 bus service to Victoria and Canada Water. A further 3 minutes walk and you'll find another bus service that runs the 381 service to Peckham and Waterloo. These bus services are handy if you want to get to Canada Water tube station without the 20 minute walk. Buses are typically reliable and clean although traffic around Rotherhithe tunnel and Bermondsey is a real issue during rush hour times. Being close to Canada Water tube station is incredibly beneficial as it hosts the Jubilee network which links to some crucial parts in London - including London Bridge, Green Park, Canary Wharf, Stratford etc. The overground network helps connect the dots around London's smaller towns and neighbourhoods.

My street consists of a diverse range of people who live together as couples or families with age ranges from 20 onwards. I believe most of these people are renters however some of our neighbours own property. The neighbourhood around Rotherhithe are kind and welcoming and there's a guarantee you'll become friendly with at least someone in close proximity to you. Most people seem to live in blocks of flats ranging in size. We live in flats next to Rotherhithe Street which ties the peninsula together nicely at the cost of increased traffic and noise. During the day you'll often hear loud cars or motorbikes speeding down the road which is dangerous for cyclists or young children. You'll sometimes hear some anti-social behaviour at night but this is quite rare and usually caused by the pubs nearby.
Amenities
My local area offers an adequate range of shops, bars, restaurants etc. You'll find your usual small independant newsagents along with a Coop and Sainsburys local near the town centre if you fancy walking a bit further across. Tesco operates within the town centre as the main "super-size" supermarket with everything you could possibly need; even an integrated Next store. While the Canada Water Shopping Centre is itself slightly dated it offers a wide range of mainstream "high-street" stores and banks which help cater for clothing, sporting goods, entertainment and more. However the shopping centre could do with some more diversity with the range of shops on offer. The retail park nearby is on hand to satisfy certain leisure cravings including bowling and a cinema with additional mainstream restaurants available and a large car park. In regards to pubs and restaurants I noticed the area is very popular for independant businesses which I believe is beneficial for the community. Apart from some "fast food" chains you'll find an abundance of small cafes and restaurants operating independently. In particular, the restaurants located near the Canada Water bus station seem to be popular with locals. Alongside indoor spaces you'll find a large outdoor parks and open spaces popular for walkers, runners, dog walkers etc. The community utilising these spaces are diverse and you'll often run into families or groups of people. During the summer some open spaces were used for picnics or BBQs. The parks are kept clean and tidy and if you fancy venturing near Bermondsey you'll find the beautiful Southwark Park. I don't believe there is anything missing in the Canada Water area. I think more Santander bikes will benefit the local suburban communities but apart from that I wholesomely believe Canada Water and Rotherhithe is a nice area for anyone to live.

The area is beautiful and inviting. For us, apart from the fantastic central location, the maritime feeling and rich history in the area made us truly fall in love. The sense of community, almost like in a small town with lots of pet owners and young families, is an additional plus.
Transport
The area is well connected to the east and west because of many DLR stops, making travel towards Canary Wharf and the city very fast, convenient and pleasant. Waiting times can be longer when travelling to some of the branch destinations, but trains are very regular and reliable on the whole. The trains and stations are clean and safe and staff are very friendly. The closest tube stations are on the Isle of Dogs which can make journeys to the north or south rather less convenient. There is a stop for the c2c service, allowing to make the journey to Southend-on-Sea in 45 minutes. Bus connectivity is good, with reliable service and clean buses. Uber boat services are available from Canary Wharf pier for a more expensive but very pleasant trip along the Thames.
Community
The area is pleasant and clean with pretty new built houses along with well kept historic buildings. People living in the street are typically young professional couples, often also with children. There is a generally friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the community.
Amenities
There are a number of supermarkets for everyday shopping, many fantastic pubs and restaurants and all the shops and bars of Canary Wharf within short walking distance. The area offers a beautiful mix of the modernity of the financial hub and the vintage charm of old wharf buildings along the Thames. There are plenty of parks such as Ropemakers Field and Mile End Park as well as beautiful walks along the Thames, the canals and Limehouse Basin.

Stepney Green station is well served and tubes run very frequently. Buses are also always running which is good. Bus stop placed well but tube is a bit further away.

People will look out for eachother here, bins collected frequently (although some people put them out too early) and easy to grab necessities at stores nearby

Poor range of amenities. Quite a far walk to go shopping anywhere and there aren’t many pubs or places to go out except George’s tavern.
