It is important to remember that SE8 is quite patchy when it comes to nice and not so nice parts. The new developments near the docks are very clean and well maintained, they attract people with higher income which resulted in the openings of new services that would cover needs of the residents. However, the part around Deptford high street is more rough around the edges, and generally feels less safe and clean. Dog owners would definitely enjoy living near the Deptford park.

SE8 is well communicated. Plenty bus stops. The only inconvenience is the traffic which is normal for London.

The best thing about living in my street is that we have a bus stop and Lidl near my building. I had no reason to not feel safe, however I know for a fact that there are thieves stilling in that area. Most common issues are petty crimes such as bikes or car covers being stolen being stolen form parking lots.

SE8 is very nicely covered by the combination of supermarkets like Lidl and Tesco express, Co-op and regular convenience stores. There is also premium quality restaurant/store such as Pear tree that offers more artisan cooking ingredients such as different types of bread baking flour, farmers eggs, Italian produce. Italian Plough Way Deli placed across from Tesco Express is also worth mentioning. It offers Italian cooking ingredients and great selections of cold cuts and pastry. SE8 has amazing Vietnamese restaurant Mama Pho and Eat Vietnam, both are very popular among the locals. Pear tree has delicious food, and I love Plough way for a charming yet modern interior design - great place for a date. There are also popular fast-food restaurants such as McDonalds and KFC. West side of the SE8 offers middle eastern and African cuisine.

What I like most about living in Deptford is the peace and quiet you get. In addition I also like the accessible transport that you can receive in addition to the community, the only thing to dislike is the bins not being empty by the local council. The overall atmosphere of Deptford is quiet, calm and peaceful. Deptford is not in need of regeneration and is a unique place to live. The area is a suitable place for children and pets to live in.

There are a wide variety of busses to other areas, in addition to a local train station there are also good places to cycle along the road the service provided by the bus and trains are very reliable and very effective for the community and the services are clean however the traffic depends on if it is after kids have come out of school or going to school then it gets busy. The problems Deptford faces in terms of transport is the lack of an underground station which would help the community and lack of night buses being reduced.

The good aspects of living on my street is the peace and quiet you receive from the local area, crime is very low in Deptford, most of people whomst live in Deptford are renting from the local council, however when it comes to parking in the flats there is no space available and there is no nearby parking facilities to use, the bins within the flats get filled up quickly leading to overflow which is a common issue. Due to not being in the big city of London there is minimal traffic noise and minimum anti social behaviour as Deptford is a quiet area

There are a range of independent shops along the street alongside an independent Chinese restaurant with plenty of available seating, there is also a Mcdonalds and a KFC and an independent chicken shop on the main road, this accommodates for the restaurants along the road, there are several open spaces most noticeably Deptford park, it is a big luxurious space and is never packed as there is always a space to hang around at. An interesting local area is Deptford market, it is a big place with a wide variety of things to purchase, there is also a library, cinema and gym located within the area. In addition there is also a national rail station and local buses nearby.

There are not enough transport links in the area. Youll have to travel miles to get in the bus or train. Which is very annoying. However it is very clean. There is definitely lack of night bus.

Good asoects is that it is safe to live in the area there are lots of cctv cameras which gives me a peace of mind. There are moslty couples and families living here. The bad aspect is there is sometimes anti social behaviour.
