I like the fact that it essentially never sleeps, with restaurants and cafes opening till late and people walking on the streets till 2 am! I would say its a pretty safe area, with rare occasions of violence and crime. However, the area is incredibly old and needs investment, but not in the form of corporate offices!
Transport links are pretty good, there are many buses running on a regular basis and 2 train stations within Edgware road alone. However, this does mean that traffic is very bad most of the time. Parking is an absolute rip off, and most of the area falls within the congestion charge zone anyway, so its never really worth taking your car. Rush hour is a nightmare and is incredibly busy, the constant road works also don't help.
Parking availability isn't too bad, however as I mentioned before its very expensive and spots are difficult to find. The area is always busy and loud with noises of cars and horns honking.
The area used to be very popular, there were so many tourists that would come to visit every year. This led to the many restaurants, cinemas, cafes and supermarkets benefiting significantly. However, now its just corporate all over, so many of these popular places are closing down and they're opening offices and flats in place of them. Edgware road used to benefit so many people and was loved by millions, now its slowly being destroyed. If you take a look at Edgware road now it looks depressing, dirty, quiet and boring.

Tube is very close to my living area. There are 2 different tube station which connect very well the area to the key places in west and east london as well as other parts of the city. There is also good connection to airports.
The good aspects include: residential and quite place but still, very close to shops, restaurants ans central London. Well connected through tube and buses. Close to hospitals. It seems that my area is mostly populaed by families and couples. Probably, most of them are owners.
Despite my area is very quite, there are several amenities for all age ranges. Starting from all sort of shops to pubs and restaurants. Pubs for example are the most popular amenities in the area. One of them is particularly nice and always busy. The legend says that it is infested by gosths. In general, quality of pubs is very high and they offer good quality food for both vegetarians and not. I think this is the reason why they are so popular. Another interesting feature of my area are multiethnic restaurants like indian, thai, egyptian, other. Also, several very very good italian restaurants. Local shops offer good quality food but very expesive, according to my standards and opinion. However, they also offer a wide variety of food and products. In terms of missing amenities, I would say gyms. Or more precisely, large gym chains.

Apart from the wonderful shops, restaurants and historic buildings in Marylebone, we always enjoy visiting Edgware Road on the very edge (western boundary) of this beautiful district. The Edgware Road corridor is one of the most vibrant places in London. Open 7 days and seemingly all night as well! This is a favourite gathering place for many Middle Eastern families -- not super-rich but definitely affluent. The number of Halal restaurants is beyond comparison. The excellent Waitrose and Tesco have a non-stop stream of customers. And it is a very safe area, thanks mainly to the civil behaviour of the patrons at the Middle Eastern shops and eateries
The whole of Edgware Road, top to bottom, will be safe walking in the evenings with kids, but keep them well away from the road if they are small, as the traffic is always heavy and fast.

I love the centeral connections, the atmosphere and being within walking distance to Hyde and Regents park.
