Chesterfield Grove, SE22 8RPI like the diversity of living in Dulwich but also close proximity to Peckham.
I love living here, but don't think I could ever afford to buy my own home in the area.
Transport
East Dulwich train station gets me into London Bridge where I change for the tube to get me into the center of town for work. It's fine, but can get busy in the morning rush hour and on the way home. It's often standing room only for most of my journey.
Community
I like the diversity of living in Dulwich but also close proximity to Peckham. It's a really pleasant suburb with lots of families and young professionals living here.
Amenities
I live just off the high street with all its cafes, bars and shops. I love the diverse range of places to go and shop - though as they are all independent, they don't always offer the best value for money. My local M&S is good for when my food supplies are low, but I try to do my bigger shops at the Tesco superstore in Peckham. I make use of the Common there too when I can.

The atmosphere is friendly and feels safe. There is a mix of families and young people. I have never had any issues as of yet and have been here about a year. It is a really pleasant and peaceful street.
Transport
I used to get the train to work which involved more walking. I have since swapped for the bus which is cheaper, closer to home and more convenient. It is also roughly the same time door to door.
Community
My street is always well presented. Unlike other parts of London there is little rubbish about. Parking on the street is east and bin collections are regular. I also love the greenery and how close it is to open green spaces.
Amenities
I live right by the park and there is a range of local shops, cafes, restaurants and takeaways all within a 2 minute walk. There are good transports links into the city centre, especially with London buses.
Grove Vale, SE22 8EQWorth a visit
It’s got much more trendy over the years I have been here. Not as many original people now but it still feels safe and fun to live here.
Transport
It’s a pretty clean area. The public transport is wonderful, with plenty of buses and trains to get all over london. There is quite a bit of road traffic but no more than most london areas. It always feels pretty safe.
Community
It’s a busy road in the day but quiet in the night times. There’s are some great shops in the road and is only a few minutes from lordship lane too. The parking is all residents or pay and display now which is good and bad. I would say my street is mainly renters with couples and families.
Amenities
East Dulwich is a vibrant and busy place. There are a variety of shops and places to eat. The green areas are a plenty. There is always something to do in the area and it is pretty friendly and diverse.
