I just love how central Islington is to everything. Not only is my immediate area lovely and fun, but it's close to literally everything. 15 mins by bus to Stoke Newington, 30 min walk to Dalston, 30 mins by bus to London Bridge and Soho, etc. It's definitely up market and trendy, I can see N1 as a great place to raise children and have pets if you can afford it. I've personally never felt unsafe, although there was a stabbing incident last year right outside my flat building. Highly recommend it here! I'm moving to Dalston soon, but I know I'll be back very often. :)

N1 is definitely convenient and well-connected being on the Northern line. Getting anywhere in central London, especially King's Cross St. Pancras is easy and quick. The buses are amazing as well, I can easily take a number of buses to the City, London Bridge, Soho, Stoke Newington and more! The traffic isn't fantastic as you may have guessed, as it's so central, but it's to be expected in any big busy city. I don't cycle personally, but I've heard many friends say they wished there were more cycle paths. Old Street is part of the night tube service, but hasn't been open during the night for at least a year or 2 now.

There's a good mix of who lives on my street - ranges from families, to those living in estates, students, couples. It's part of why I love it here so much! Diversity and mixing is good. I come from the US where neighbourhoods can be so homogenous, and I don't think it benefits anyone. I live on a quiet street, never had any issues with bin collections, no anti-social behaviour that I've personally witnessed. Parking is difficult, but doesn't concern me as I don't drive and don't think there's really a need to.

Living here definitely means access to some of the best restaurants and bars that London has to offer! You can find high quality butchers, famous eateries like Ottolenghi, and trendy boutiques right outside your doorstep. Upper Street and Angel are always vibrant and brimming with life. Diverse Shoreditch and Dalston are just a stone throw away as well. Highbury Fields is lovely to take walks in and picnic in, but admittedly I think you can find more green open spaces in many other parts of London.

I enjoy it here. There is a range of hops for a range of people for example cheaper shops for people who are at a economic disadvantage. It is also very culturally diverse for example there is indian takeaway and turkish takeaway. The community is very good aswell everyone is kind and thoughtful of one another.

Parkinf is very bad to be honest . Traffic around old street is bad during the day and specially now arpund roundaboud somethimes is just nightmare.

There are many off license shops around old street but I think good add on to the local area will be Tesco supermarket . Couple of the restaurants are worth visiting eg.best mangal on great eastern street.
