Excellent residential street for family/single life close to parks, transport and all you need!

My local area is perfect for families and couples as it's so peaceful and most of the houses are large and spacious with front and back garden space so we cn make the most of living here and have access to all amenities nearby. It really is a pretty and clean street to walk down with newly refurbished houses as well as older Victoria age houses.

Transport

I live close to the 390 and 29/253 bus routes which are very regular even during rush hour. Trains are also pretty regular from overground and underground, just have to bear in mind bus and train can get really busy during rush hour so best to leave with ample time although not so busy right now during pandemic. Cycle routes are also brilliant as new routes have been made along Camden residential roads. Main roads and York way leading to King's Cross and feels very safe to cycle.

Community

On my street we have a real mixture of families/ couples in owned homes, council homes, students and lodgers. Everyone tends to get in well and knows who their neighbours are and we look out for each other if anyone needs help. It's a quiet area with most people enjoying family life but can become a lively street with music and good vibes during the summer. There's always space for parking outside the house and a bicycle shed for cyclists. Bins and recycling bins are collected every 2 weeks and the whole street get their bins out on the same day so we can follow each others lead on what bin is being collected ecah week on bin day.

Amenities

I love my area because its central to everything I need. Good links to transport with bus stops nearby and train station in walking distance. I have grown up in this area and been able to walk to primary school and secondary with friends living on my street. There are several parks within the area for fresh air and great venues and community centres for weddings and parties which my family have used over the years. The great thing I love about my area is that everyone is so friendly, great neighbours who come to help whenever you need a hand, peaceful in the evenings and winters and good vibes in the summer. Corner shops and supermarkets very close by to grab essentials and treats and plenty of restaurants to dine and order takeaway from. I particularly like walking down the Camden canal in Summer and soak in the atmosphere and canal boat community. There's just so much to do in Camden, I would never get bored of living here!

Good green spaces and walking distance to shops, cafes bars. Perfect for families, children and pets.

The area is good walking distance to the university UAL: Central St Martin’s. It is run down in some areas but overall clean and has purpose. There are tourist spots, good amenities and you are always close to a green space. I feel very safe living here and is the perfect place for children and pets (there already is an abundance!)

Transport

There are a good number of bus stops and routs around the area. Due to the location it is easy to get to many places without changeovers (close to kings cross) the overground and underground are walking distance (Camden town) and I have not experienced any late trains or unpleasant staff or stations. Camden Town Tube before the pandemic was often full to capacity even before peak times. It would also close unexpectedly and often doesn’t cope well or shut completely when one of the many music venues in Camden (electric ballroom especially) would host a gig or concert. There are a few bike paths on the road, the canal and walkways that are buck left and pedestrian friendly for cyclists. Roads are also being made more cycle friendly which is good.

Community

The roads are wide and can fit cars parked on either side as well as two stream traffic. Residents can apply for parking permits and it is free to park on the weekend. A few houses have driveways. The street is very quiet as there are no busses that pass down it. There is a single file bottleneck Junction at the end of the road to limit traffic and speed from the main road to the residential area. The railway lines that terminate in kings cross platform 9, 10 and 11 travel under a section of the street however I have no noise complaints. It is a very residential street but still close to local amenities. Bin collections are on time, a good mixture of families, young professionals, students, friends live on the street with a little over half half the properties converted into flats abs the others as full houses. Neighbours are friendly and polite. Majority seem to be renters however there are a good amount of homeowners

Amenities

There are two small local shops (shell garage and Nisa Local) at either end of my road which are fantastic for quick essentials but not for a general food and supplies shop. There is a larger Tesco petrol station with a sizeable shop and a large Sainsbury’s in walking distance. Lots of good sized parks and spaces for teenagers and children to play and meet. A skate park and children’s adventure playground. Many small independent cafes, pubs abs bars alongside the bigger chain establishments closer to town. There is a good mix of bustling town/shops/venues and quiet residential areas. Local cafes and pubs seem to be supported just as much as the chains: Ellie’s cafe crepe a la cadre (Kentish town), Camden hop house pub always had a good crowd - hosts a popular pub quiz every Tuesday and serves a wide range of food, quality drinks and cocktails. Hidden coffee was always bustling (beside the overground station). The Canal is a present way to travel by foot away from the often loud abs busy main roads. The walk to primrose hill abs Regent’s Park is manageable and enjoyable (and popular, especially in the pandemic). Though the canal has been inundated with more joggers, cyclists and walkers than usual so can get rather busy. Camden square gardens is a present place to sit abs walk, Amy Woinehouse’s old house just opposite. Overall it is a very present place to live. I have no queries about cleanliness etc. During the non pandemic times, its closeness to Camden Town means that it is often a lot busier, however this is neither a positive or a negative. Though with this can come busier roads and walkways. I enjoy the diversity of the area, it is not suited to a particular type of person be it age race etc. as some other parts of London sometimes do. There is a good sense of community

The rent varies from £1000-1500 which isn’t too bad

Apart from the wonderful shops, restaurants and historic buildings in Marylebone, we always enjoy visiting Edgware Road on the very edge (western boundary) of this beautiful district. The Edgware Road corridor is one of the most vibrant places in London. Open 7 days and seemingly all night as well! This is a favourite gathering place for many Middle Eastern families -- not super-rich but definitely affluent. The number of Halal restaurants is beyond comparison. The excellent Waitrose and Tesco have a non-stop stream of customers. And it is a very safe area, thanks mainly to the civil behaviour of the patrons at the Middle Eastern shops and eateries

Transport

The whole of Edgware Road, top to bottom, will be safe walking in the evenings with kids, but keep them well away from the road if they are small, as the traffic is always heavy and fast.

Community

There is 3 nearly schools to me which is great . The rent varies from £1000-1500 which isn’t too bad

Amenities

The whole of Edgware the traffic is always heavy and fast. Restaurant owners are mainly arab with most shops selling shisha and arab food
